WHO AM I?
From a young age, I knew I wanted to work in the film industry. Being from Minnesota, Hollywood felt a million miles away when I was growing up, but that never stopped me.
When I was in middle school I began learning programs such as Blender and Adobe Premiere.
My formal education has brought me to both the University of Wisconsin Stout as well as Arizona State University.
I’ve had professional experience both in advertising working for the ASU Enterprise and Management Team as a Videographer and in Short Film and Music Videos.

All my life, I’ve felt like an outsider: an alien sent to observe humanity who has fallen in love with the culture but can never truly join them. Because of this, I’ve always been struck by the magic of interpersonal relationships, both platonic and romantic. To me, relationships are form meaning in this world. I think this is evident in some of my favorite films such as Magnolia, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Parenthood and favorite books such as The Sun Also Rises and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
My background is in traditional art. Learning Goya’s use of light, Seurat’s brush strokes, and O’Keeffe’s perspective taught me the nuances of individual artists, and how their artistic eye tells their narratives. I try to bring my own personality and perspective to my own work.
When I transferred colleges as a sophomore, I took a semester off. During this time, I wrote, directed, and produced an 18-minute, award-winning short film Roswell. Working on this film taught me valuable lessons in filmmaking and directing specifically. Mostly, however, it taught me that making films by yourself is less enjoyable and more tedious. Film is a collaborative art form, and that affordance is what makes it special.
